Can an electrician replace a light switch with a power socket combo?

I am looking to install a ring wired doorbell which has a plug in adapter. We dont have a socket in our hallway but do have a double light switch that operated the hallway light and outside lights. I am wondering if we could swap this for a double switch and socket combo such as in the pic attached to plug the adapter in? Many thanks for the advice.

I'm sure you're already aware, but please note that all electrical work needs to be done by a licenced electrician.

As to your question, it might be possible, but it really depends on how that existing switch is wired, and in many homes, it is not a simple swap because the wiring used for light switches and power points is usually different. Your switch would likely require a neutral wire, which is not always present in a lighting circuit.

So, your best option really is to speak with your electrician about what is possible and practical in your situation. If it is possible without additional wiring, then happy days, but it all depends on what wires are there and whether it is practical and within regulations for your electrician to install the switches you are after.
