How to fix backyard water leak?

Hi all,

I’ve discovered a water leak outside my house and could use some advice on the best way to seal it.

The water is actually spraying upwards directly from the ground and out where the gaps are.

Does this look like a simple case of needing fresh PTFE thread seal tape, or should I be looking for a specific type of thread sealant paste?

Thanks in advanced!  Hoping to DIY this if possible.

As mentioned, this is regulated plumbing work, so you'll need to enlist the services of a plumber to fix the issue. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide advice on how to go about the repair. However, it does appear like there is a joint that is not connected at all. The plumber will be able to hook it back up and stop the leak.

I've attached another photo of the leak for your reference. You don't reckon I'm going to need silicone seal or similar? The PTFE will do the job?

Please note that plumbing work needs to be completed by a licensed professional for safety and compliance.

As this is a mains water supply, it is considered regulated plumbing work. It appears that the connection is not done up at all, so your plumber should have no issue reconnecting the point for you.
