We are busy with a bathroom renovation and would like to remove these taps for painting. I cant see any screw. Does anyone know how to remove these safely?

That said, removing just the tap handle for painting is generally a fairly straightforward task.
With older-style tap heads like this, they’re often just a press fit onto the spindle, meaning there’s no obvious screw holding them in place. That’s why you’re not seeing any fixings.
A couple of things to check first:
In that case, you can usually:
Once the handle is off, you’ll expose the spindle and the rest of the assembly. From there, the process is the same as standard tap maintenance: How to replace a tap washer.
If it feels stuck, avoid forcing it too hard, as older fittings can be brittle. Whilst you have the taps off, you might consider upgrading them with a new sink set.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
