Hi team,
The grout in my shower has worn down and I'm wondering whether I can just go over it with a darker grey colour or if the white grout needs to be removed first?
Thanks
Hello @Mary7
In order to get a good secure grout line the old grout must be removed. I suggest using https://www.bunnings.com.au/qep-professional-grout-saw_p0393523 to remove the remaining grout between the tiles. Give the area a good sweep and make sure that the there are no loose leftover grout in the tile gaps. Once the area is clean you then begin to grout the tiles using https://www.bunnings.com.au/dunlop-1-5kg-flexible-coloured-grout-slate-grey_p6829735 or similar. I suggest using a https://www.bunnings.com.au/qep-6-handyman-squeegee_p6821452 and clean as you go to prevent the grout drying up on the surface of tile. My best advice is to seal the grout with https://www.bunnings.com.au/cpc-220ml-shower-plug-sealant_p1585225 to make the grout and tile water repellent.
