What paint for interior of timber and corrugated iron shed?

Hi - completely new to painting so forgive the basic questions!

I have an old shed / garage on my property with both timber and corrugated iron walls that have been graffitied inside in the past which I'd like to paint over.

What paint would be suitable for both surfaces? And what steps should I follow / equipment do I need? The old shed / garage is not particularly well sealed so I think I need something a bit tough or weatherproof. it doesn't need to be nice, just something that will last, be suitable for both types of surfaces, and cover up the old graffiti!

For what you’re describing, a simple and durable option is to use an exterior paint like Dulux Weathershield. It’s designed to handle exposure to the elements, so it will hold up well in a shed that isn’t well sealed, and it can be used on both timber and corrugated iron as long as the surfaces are in reasonable condition.

In terms of prep and process, here’s a straightforward approach:

• Give everything a good clean first (sugar soap or similar) to remove dirt, dust, and any loose material
• Scrape or wire-brush off any flaking paint or rust on the metal
• If the corrugated iron has any rust, spot-prime those areas with a metal primer

The graffiti is a bit of an unknown. Ideally, you’d remove it completely and paint the clean surface, but in reality that’s often difficult. In this case, it’s perfectly reasonable to just paint over it and see how it goes. You may find you need a second coat (or even a third in heavy areas) to fully cover it.

For equipment:

• Roller and tray (a thicker nap roller helps on rough surfaces)
• Brush for edges and corners
• Possibly a smaller roller for the corrugated sections

Since this doesn’t need to be a perfect finish, the focus is really on good coverage and durability, and this approach will get you there
