How to fix showerhead inconsistent water flow?

Hi!

Our very old shower head recently broke (see photo), so I purchased the Dorf Chrome Adjustable Stayfast Wall Shower from Bunnings $108, I chose the more expensive one because of the good reviews.

However, when it is turned on, the water flow is strangely jumpy! Our water pressure has not changed, and I even removed the water restrictor part but this this not help. We also have to turn the taps on harder to get a stronger flow, whereas the old head only needed a small turn to get a nice strong flow.

Thank you for sharing your question about your https://www.bunnings.com.au/dorf-chrome-adjustable-stayfast-wall-shower_p5002243 . It's possible that there is some air trapped in the plumbing system. I suggest turning the cold water on full with the hot water off. Then reverse the process with the hot water on full and the cold water off. Leave the taps on for a minute then shut them off, this will hopefully clear any trapped air in the pipework.

If the shower spray is still irregular, I propose removing the shower head and clearing it of water. Gently swing the head left and right to see if any debris has been caught inside the shower head that could be causing the irregular spray. If there is debris inside, I suggest trying to shake it out of the head. Another thing you can try is to return the water restrictor to see if it regulates the flow of water inside the head.

If the fault still persists, I suggest returning the product to the store for an exchange. Please remember to bring your docket with you so that the customer service team can track down your sale.
