Pregola and Walkway in backyard

Hi guys

Planning to do pregola and walkway in my backyard either with treated timber or any alternative materials like aluminium posts.

My neighbour have done pregola with your guidancd in this community.

i have attached photos and dimensions.

The first thing I would suggest is that you get in touch with your local council to see what requirements they have for the construction of roofed structures such as pergolas. Oftentimes, any roofed structure over a certain height and area will require the submission of engineering plans for approval, and from experience, a pergola of this size will almost certainly exceed the size requirements that bring building approval into play.

For this reason, I would suggest you reach out to a professional such as a structural engineer or licenced builder for their assistance. They will be able to assist you with designing a structure that is fit for purpose and meets all the necessary standards set out by your local council.

Materials such as H4 treated pine posts and H3 framing are common with pergolas, but the calibre of these timbers and quantity of them will need to be defined by your engineer or builder.
