I have a pop plug that's got stuck. I've tried twisting to left , light tapping around edge, DBL D 40 and I can't get it to pop up so I can replace it.
What else can I try before I have to call a plumber.
Thanks Sue
Hi @sue62,
Before calling a plumber, it’s worth trying a bit more grip and a cleaner surface. Dry the plug completely and remove any residue from the WD-40, since that can actually make it harder to get a solid hold. Put on a pair of dishwashing gloves to improve grip, then try turning the plug anti-clockwise again while applying steady downward pressure.
If that still doesn’t work, the issue is likely internal, either the pop-up mechanism has failed or there’s buildup and corrosion inside the waste preventing movement. At that point, replacing the entire sink waste assembly is usually the simplest and most reliable fix rather than trying to free the stuck mechanism.
Please note that plumbing work needs to be completed by a licensed professional for safety and compliance.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks but I can't twist it as I'm not strong enough . Thanks for the info. I will buy a replacement and get a plumber as I need a tap put in too.
