How to fix ceiling plaster peeling?

Our house has original interior ceiling plaster layer spanning its entire surface area. It's a decorative layer superimposed on top.

Over time, its corners and edges have begun to loosen and peel down. What would be the best approach and method and the the right application?

I suggest having a quick look at this guide - How to repair a cracked cornice. The general steps are to clean the surface and lift the cornice just enough that you can put in some Selleys 480g White 3-in-1 Silicone Sealant. This is perfect for jobs that need adhesion and sealing at the same time.
