Just wondering how can I fix this broken oyster light cover clips. Cheers.
Hi @charlie0123,
Those clips are almost always proprietary to the specific light fitting, rather than a generic, interchangeable part. Oyster lights might look similar across brands, but the way the diffuser (cover) attaches, including the clip size, shape, and spacing, is usually unique to the manufacturer.
Your best first step is to:
If it happens to be one supplied through Bunnings, our Spare Parts team can reach out to the supplier and see if replacement clips are available
There isn’t really a “universal” oyster light clip solution, so going through the original manufacturer is usually your best option. Otherwise, the fallback is typically replacing the diffuser or the entire fitting if parts aren’t available.
Just as a reminder that if it comes to replacing the whole light fitting, that’s considered electrical work and needs to be carried out by a licensed electrician.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, Mitchell, yes, I bought it from Bunnings years ago. About 3 years ago, I was luckily enough to get a free one from a local lighting shop. But not this time as they don't have it. Also, I no long have the packing, so I don't know its model number or manufacturer.
Hi @charlie0123 , thanks for the extra information. Unfortunately, if the model details are no longer available, it becomes very difficult to accurately identify the exact oyster light. There have been many similar-looking fittings over the years from different suppliers, and because the clip design can be specific to each model, there isn’t a universal replacement that can be matched with confidence.
At this stage, your best option would be to carefully check the fitting itself for any faint markings, labels, or stamped codes, which are sometimes located inside the diffuser or on the base plate. If nothing can be identified, you could also try bringing the broken clip or diffuser into store to compare against current models on display, although this is not always successful with older fittings.
If the model can’t be traced, the most practical solution is usually to replace either the diffuser or the entire light fitting.
