The project:
Painted my daughter's bedroom with a stencil for a wallpaper look.
- Materials:
All in one Primer, Sealer and Undercoat
Dulux Natural White Low Sheen
Dulux Low Sheen paint colour Lilac (unsure of colour name because I picked this up from the mistint clearance table)
Dulux Bee Hall Low Sheen
- Tools:
180 grit sand paper
Cutting in brush
Frog Tape
230mm 10mm Nap Roller
- Step 1:
Sand walls down with 180 grit sandpaper, then clean with Sugar Soap.
- Step 2:
Apply primer.
- Step 3:
Apply 2 coats of Dulux Natural White.
- Step 4:
Using a laser level makes this easier to line up, but if you don't have one just measure out using a measuring tape. I started in 5mm from the left and measured out every 10cm, making sure the tape was applied in sequence.
- Step 5:
I painted the purple stripes first, applying 2 coats.
- Step 6:
I then applied the stencil with a brush, applying only 1 coat.
When this was dry, I then applied Dulux Bee Hall to the flowers for a subtle pop of colour for detail.
- Step 7:
I then finished up the room with the Lilac colour framing the window, and Natural White for the rest of the room
