How to remove paint from brickwork?

Question

I have a brick letterbox that has a white stain on it. It looks like paint from the white lamp on top of it has discoloured the brickwork.

So far, I have tried to clean it using:

* Nylon brush and soapy water
* Wire brush
* High pressure water cleaner

Any suggestions on what to try please?

. Please make sure to do a test spot as well before you commit the entire surface. You can use the cleaning implements you currently have in your position such as the wire brush and pressure washer to rinse the surface clean.
