the orbis came with a few extra plates, not sure what to do with them. very frustrating as they are not in the instruction guide and it doesn't seem to latch if i leave them out. a bit angry actually. can someone help?
Hello @angryuser
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Ikonic Brushed Nickel Orbis Entrance Lever Set.
Would it be possible for you to post a photo of the "extra plates" of the door lever? This will give our members a better idea of the door lever parts you are referring to. Once we see them, we'll do our best to assist you with their installation.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Hello,
thanks for your very prompt reply. I attach the pictures of all the parts together and then the parts that i don't know how supposed to fit and are not in the provided instructions. I can attach the door lever without them, but then it changes the locking the latch and the latch plate so that it no longer fits in the strike or even the groove without the door without a strike. I suspect if i can put in these parts it will work.
I am very frustrated.
Thank you for sharing those photos of the extra parts. Please allow me to double check the sequence of installation, I will be passing by the store tomorrow and will take photos so that you can see how the door lever is installed.
If you’d prefer not to tackle the install yourself, you could also look at the stores https://www.bunnings.com.au/services/in-home/door-lock-installation service, it’s a handy option for a quick and hassle-free setup.

Hi Erik thank you if you could check it out please. i don't want to have to pay for a locksmith because the instructions did not include all the parts.
Hi @angryuser,
I apologise for the confusion. I'll certainly provide feedback to the manufacturer that it would be a good idea to label these clearly as packaging or reference their removal in the instructions.
Those are packaging materials. They are used to hold the handle in position in the box and are removed, as you've done, on unboxing. They simply pin the unit to the box for display purposes and are not needed for installation.
Regarding the handle set not latching, I would be more than happy to help troubleshoot that issue. Could you provide a little more information, such as did the handle installation go well, but the door striker is not engaging with the striker plate and holding the door closed? If this is the case, it might just require a small adjustment for alignment. Any photos you can add showing the issue can help point us to the best solution.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, thanks again for prompt attention to the matter. I think i can describe without pictures. Before i put the handle on the latch goes fine into the strike. the handles makes the latchbolt sink abit into latch itself so it no longer protudes enough. i notice the handle turns but the lock doesn't work either? i never have had this much issues with simply replacing a door knob
I think I am following and I think it could be something to do with the fact this set has an adjustable latch, which can be set for either a 60mm or 70mm back set, which is the measurement from the front of the door to the centre of the hole in the door.
I'd try removing the latch body from the door and setting the latch hole to the other setting as shown in step 3 of the instructions.
Once the latch hole has been adjusted, the latch should protrude further out of the door, which seems to be the main issue.
Give this a try. Hopefully it is the answer, but if not, please let me know so I can assist further.

It's great that you have received excellent advice from my teammates. I've placed photos below of what those extra parts do, and they do indeed just hold the handles in place inside the packaging. They are not needed in the assembly.
In regards to the latch issue, I recommend having a look at this guide - How to change a door knob.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Hi,
thanks you for the help moving the latch accross solved that problem and it latches in okay. the problem is now even though the lever itself works, the keys and privacy don't work. i haven't put in overly tight. i'm not sure what that might be and have never encourntered this before. is there a common reason?
It's possible that it is an alignment issue. I suggest removing the door levers and joining them together to test the key lock and the locking nib. You should be able to twist the nib to lock it and use the key to unlock it. The key must be able to turn with little to no resistance. Once you have determined that they work properly re-install them onto the latch and test it one more time before you place the locking screws in place. My best advice is to make sure the axle is properly lined up to the locking nib.
However, if the locking nib or the keys don't turn at all while disassembled it's probable that there might be a fault. I suggest bringing your docket and the door lever back to the store where you purchased it from for an exchange.
Thank you so much. it was my fault, i had misaligned, taking it apart did the trick. thank you for such prompt and useful support from all teammembers, especially on a very small job. i guess i was thrown off by the extra parts which looked to solid and expensive to be just guides. as silly as it is, perhaps there should be a note in the instructions!
Thank you very much for the update! I'm glad that you got your door lever working.
