How to build an outdoor bicycle storage shed?

Question

Need some ideas for an outdoor bicycle storage shed / box ?

* has to be lockable
* Weatherproof 
* store more than 2 - 3 bikes

Looked Keter plastic storage sheds and boy are they expensive

Is there something out there that's easy to put together ?

We've had a couple of discussions about this topic - How to build a timber bike shed? by @adapants and How to build a bike storage wooden shed? by @DaRobba. You should be able to pick up a couple of ideas how to build a secure shed. There is an excellent example of basic assembly steps in the second discussion. The building principle is based off this guide - How to build a pool pump cover. Once you build the basic frame the wall panels and roof cover can easily be installed.

Building a lockable gate comes down to planning and what hardware you would like to use for the locking mechanism. A classic example is the

and an even more traditional lock is using a chain and padlock. It is possible to make it more modern, but it requires more work on the door structure and a better floor foundation for additional locks.
