How to install wall cabinets?

Hi everyone,

I'm about to install 7 wall cabinets (40x80cm each) across a 2.85m wide wall and would love some advice from anyone who's done this before.

My wall is standard plasterboard (13mm gyprock) over timber studs spaced 600mm apart. The studs are 90mm deep.

The instructions specify flat head screws for the suspension rail. My calculation:

• Rail (~2mm) + gyprock (13mm) = ~15mm before hitting the stud
• So I need the screw to go at least 50mm into the stud
• That means a minimum of 65-75mm total length

For sections of rail falling between studs, I'm planning to use M6 toggle bolts rated up to 10kg.

A few questions:

1. What size and gauge screw would you recommend for this setup?
2. Does the flat head sit flush enough in the rail holes?

Unfortunately, I can't say I am aware of that system to provide really specific advice here. If you wanted that kind of advice, you would need to speak to the manufacturer.

Generally speaking, these https://www.bunnings.com.au/buildex-10-10-x-75mm-white-star-head-cabinet-screw-50-pack_p2400124 fit the requirements you have mentioned and have a flat head that should sit relatively flush to the rail.
