How to install a gate between galvanised posts?

Hi,

I am wanting to install gate with a space of 1350mm between two galvanised posts.

Does Bunnings have a gate I can use for this? I have the steel (neighbour friendly colourbond) already to go to attatch.

Also does Bunnings sell metal screws that match colourbond colours?

Thank you for sharing your question about installing a gate. There are a few choices when it comes to gate framing but the only set that will accommodate your measurements are the Fortress gate series.

They come in the following heights:

The connecting rail I recommend is the https://www.bunnings.com.au/fortress-gates-1-3m-connecting-rail_p0459471 which can be trimmed down so that you get the exact fit you are after. Here is the link to the assembly brochure - Fortress Gate E Frame brochure.

In regard to the metal screws, it will need to be ordered at the special orders desk at your store. My best advice is to double check the colour of your Colorbond sheet before ordering the screw colours.

Being just neighbour friendly panel do I need a wide brace gate set up, or with the metal being lighter than wood I could set it up as a standard gate?

If the gate you choose recommends putting a centre brace, I suggest following the instructions on the assembly brochure. This means that the gate was assembled in the suggested manner and will provide you with a strong steady frame. Should the gate be upgraded sometime in the future, you can be sure that it will be able to hold heavier loads.

The horizontal rail with the diagonal brace will need to be specially ordered at the store. Please double check your measurements before ordering the brace.

The https://www.bunnings.com.au/rapidfence-1800-x-1870mm-grey-large-steel-adjustable-gate-frame-kit_p0424305 is also a viable option. The difference I believe is that the Fortress gate set uses a heavy duty hinge and has a diagonal brace.
