How to fill gap in shower door frame?

I noticed that there is always bit wet at bottom of shower door frame. After getting closer look, i saw that sealant is not property sealed. While removing existing sealant, a big chunk of sealant and foam for pulled together.

See pic please. Sponge foam is wet.

What should I use to fill the gap?

Have you got a photo of the gap at the bottom of the shower door frame? How wide is it?

I suspect whoever siliconed your shower frame used that bit of foam as a backing rod because the gap is relatively wide. This is fairly common practice, but that bit of foam looks like it was ripped from a sponge as opposed to using proper backing rod. Not the end of the world, but not best practice either.

Assuming I am correct and the gap is relatively wide; you would replace that foam with some foam filler rod that is close in diameter to the width of the gap. It is pressed into the gap, friction fitting snugly, then siliconed over. The benefit to using gap filler rod, is that it reduces the amount of silicone needed to adequately cover the gap to prevent water getting through. If you didn't use it, you might end up using half a tube of silicone to fill the gap because it keeps slumping through, where you only really needed a little bit with a bit of backing rod.
