How to fill gap between cornice and wall tiles?

Question

A contractor completed our shower room renovation in January, but since then, gaps have gradually appeared between the cornice and the wall tiles.

The shower room often feels dusty and sandy, so I suspect dust from the roof space may be falling through these gaps.

If I were to fix this myself, what would be the best material to use to fill the gaps? Silicone sealant, gap filler, or something else?

Just checking in to see how you ended up going with the gaps around the cornice. Were you able to get them sealed up neatly with the silicone?

I thought I'd also mention these

. They are great for smoothing off silicone and getting a neat finish. Simply apply your silicone and then spritz the scraper with a little soapy water and run it along the silicone bead.

The general method of filling the gap is to clean the edge of the cornice and remove any loose plaster or debris that's hanging off the edge. Once the edge has been tidied up, I propose using
