That style of cabinet looks great, but it’s worth saying upfront that what you’re looking at is quite an advanced build. A long, floating, wall-mounted cabinet like that is usually custom-made by a cabinet maker and securely fixed into the wall framing. It’s not a simple weekend project, especially if you’re working with standard off-the-shelf materials.
Before getting into how to approach it, it would really help to know a few things. What type of wall are you fixing it to, for example, plasterboard on timber studs, brick, or concrete? What tools do you have available? And how confident are you with DIY projects like cabinetry or wall fixing? Those factors will determine what is realistically achievable.
The reason many people go for pre-built TV units is because even getting a floating cabinet safely mounted is a project in itself. These units need strong internal framing or brackets, and they must be fixed directly into studs or masonry with the right hardware to safely support the weight of the cabinet plus anything stored inside. If you’re keen to achieve a similar look, a more approachable option would be to use pre-made cabinets or modular units and then mount or frame around them.
