I have just bought 2 very young Eucalyptus Jarrah trees, and want to plant them in a bigger pot that they arrived in. What is the best potting mix or fertiliser to use

Jarrah trees generally prefer a free-draining, low-phosphorus potting mix, as Australian natives can be sensitive to rich fertilisers. A good-quality native potting mix is usually the best choice for young eucalyptus trees in pots. They tend to do best in mixes that drain well rather than staying constantly wet.
When repotting, choose a pot with good drainage holes and only go up one or two pot sizes from the current container. You can also improve drainage by mixing a little coarse sand or perlite through the potting mix. Eucalyptus generally dislike “wet feet”, so drainage is more important than having a very rich mix.
For fertiliser, use a gentle native plant fertiliser sparingly during the growing season. Avoid high-phosphorus fertilisers, as they can damage native plants over time. Since Jarrah can eventually become a very large tree, keep in mind that it may only be suitable in a pot for a limited time before needing to go into the ground or be heavily managed with pruning.
Also, make sure the trees get plenty of sun once established, as eucalyptus thrive in full sunlight.
