we recently had installed a new clothes line but we want to remove the spacers inserts because it’s too high
Welcome to the Bunnings Workhop community @samsaroni. It's wonderful to have you join us and many thanks for your question on adjusting the height of a Hills clothesline.
You'll need to start the adjustment process by following this installation video to unlock and remove the clothesline from the ground socket. Next, you need to remove the spacer from the ground socket with a long-handled tool. A pair of BBQ tongs or a set of long-handled needle-nosed pliers should do the job. Another method, which was suggested by Hills, is to fill the socket with water and the spacers should float up to the top.

Just curious whether you managed to get the spacer inserts out and lower the clothesline successfully.
I’d be interested to hear whether the water trick worked for you or if you ended up using another method to remove them.
If the spacers are still putting up a fight, happy to help troubleshoot it further.
