How to seal mortar crack in crazy paving?

Hi, i'm looking for the best product to seal this gap that has presented in the mortar of my crazy pave. Would a Sikaflex sealant or a Dunlops Ready-to-Go grout be better?

The gap is around 5mm in width and depth. I suspect it is where the house slab ends and the slab for the crazy pave meets.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Zappers2602. It's sensational to have you join us and many thanks for you question on filling a gap.

Given that gap is likely where two slabs meet, there’s a good chance there’s a bit of movement happening there.

For consistency, you could try filling it with the same grout first to see if the movement has ceased, but if there is still movement, it may crack again over time.

A more durable option would be the https://www.bunnings.com.au/sika-300ml-concrete-grey-sikaflex-11fc-purform_p0628962 , as it’s flexible and designed to accommodate movement, so it’s less likely to fail. The trade-off is it may look slightly different compared to the surrounding grout.

Some filler rod can be pushed into the gap to provide a backing for the sealant.

Fantastic thanks Mitchell, very helpful.

I'll go with the Sikaflex option and may try sprinkle it with some dry concrete mix to blend in as best as possible.

That actually sounds like a pretty clever approach for helping the Sikaflex blend in a bit better with the surrounding paving.

I’d be interested to hear how it turned out once you got it filled, particularly whether the texture and colour ended up matching in reasonably well.

Thanks @MitchellMc. I think it came up pretty well. I used the Sika Pro Plus Grey Concrete and topped it off with some cement/sand mix. I also had a 10mm gap where the home meets the paving and filled that using the same method (plus some backing rod).

Also while i have you any advice on how i would fill in these spots where small chucks of mortar have come out? Roughly 3cm wide and 1.5cm deep.

Thank you so much for the photo update! It looks very well done; I can't even find the spot where you did the repair. In regard to the small spots, I suggest cleaning out the small holes by blowing air into them. I suggest using a bicycle pump to clear out the small holes. I then recommend using the same Sika filler and using your sand and cement cover technique to hide the repairs. Once it cures, I'm sure it will be difficult to spot as well.
