How to reseal a shower?

Question

I have an older shower, hope to eventually redo the bathroom but for now wanted advice on try to reseal the edges. It looks like there is a clear sealant around it and also some tabs that were stuck on the parts of the door to try and help the water run off.

Greatly appreciate any advice on this , hoping to try and do myself. Photos for reference.

Thanks for the advice. I actually don’t need the shower strips as I realised one of my doors was just not on properly but will plan out to do the sealing later on.

Did you end up resealing the shower yourself in the end? I’d be interested to hear how you went with removing the old silicone and whether those shower strips turned out to be removable or fixed in place.

Hello @eagboola

Thank you for sharing your question about resealing your shower. The tabs attached to the bottom of your shower door panels could be Shower seal strips, but please be aware that it could be a custom strip, I recommend not forcefully taking them off. If you can slide it off the door, you can then compare its profile with the ones at the store.

As for the old silicone seals, I suggest taking them off with a

. Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves while removing the old silicone.
