Can you install a stone waterfall countertop over washing machine?

I'm designing a new laundry and someone has floated the idea to me of making the end of my benchtop a stone waterfall. I have to admit it will definitely look nicer. But is it a good idea to have such a waterfall countertop wrapped around a front load washing machine and dryer? I'm just wondering if there is a chance of the waterfall end getting chipped/damaged.

Has anyone in this community done something similar?

A stone waterfall end would look really sharp in a laundry. I don't think there is any real reason you couldn't have it beside a front load washer and dryer as long as they are not directly touching eachother.

Stone itself is very durable, and modern machines do not usually create enough movement to cause problems if they are properly levelled and there is some space between them. As long as the appliances are sitting stable and the install is done well, vibration is not typically an issue.

The main thing to think about is the exposed edge. In a laundry you are often moving things around, so it can get knocked occasionally, although this could be mitigated relatively easily by having a slightly rounded edge instead of a sharp square one.
