How to replace ducted heating system wall vent filter?

Dear all,

I am currently seeking advice of how to can find / DIY a vent filter for the ducted heating system.  i just can take down the vent , however i cant find any mounting bracket or holder for putting a filter on it.

Would love to hear some options for on a budget.

Agree with @R4addZ , ducted heating dont have any kind of air filter (They dont need one like refridgerated AC). Any reason why you wanted to add a filter @Palleung

Are you sure that is actually a filter as there doesn't appear to be any filter material there. Are you sure it isn't just a vent to ensure airflow and prevent any carbon monoxide build up? If it is just a vent, then there should be plenty of options to choose from but Erics suggestion to contact the manufacturer is still a good idea.

Edited to add that if it isn't a filter already, it could be a mistake to try and fit a filter as a filter usually needs pressure to push the air through it and this seems to be a passive vent. putting any kind of filter material in there could cause CO build up and could potentially be fatal.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your wall vent filter.

Just to be on the safe side, I propose looking at the brand of your central heater and giving them a call to find out what is the recommended filter for the heating system. The reason for this is that putting in a third-party filter that is not approved or warranted by the heating company could cause it to become a fire hazard. An approved filter on the other hand means that it has been tested by the company and works properly with the central heater.
