How to change waterfall bathtub spout?

Hi, was wondering if I can get some help with changing the my bathtub spout. Im not sure if it is a threaded or slip on type. I can't see an access for a screw in the undersurface (as in seen in photo) but the sprout cover is jammed against the wall when I try to turn it anticlockwise (highlighted in photo).

The waterfall panel and the spout cover seem to be separate parts.

I'm thinking I might go a bit harder to turn it anticlockwise but I am unsure if I am missing any other signs that may be a slip on type and I don't want to break anything.

Would appreciate any help!
