It's definitely a possibility that the crack was generated from structural movement. These movements thought minimal does have an effect on the outside covering of your home. It only becomes a bit of a worry when the crack or movement becomes large and exaggerated. The general steps to repair are to clean the crack with a stiff bristle brush to remove any loose dirt and debris. In the interest of long-term repair, I suggest keeping an eye on the wall crack and any other signs of wall movement around the area. Should new cracks appear it would be a clear indication of larger movement in your wall that might need to be addressed.
