Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to get some advice on how to redesign our small laundry to maximise storage. The current layout isn’t working for us, and we’re updating the cabinetry to a white gloss 2‑pac finish, so I’d love some help getting the layout right before we finalise everything.
Here are the room dimensions from our plan:
- Length: 2760 mm
- Width: 1865 mm
- Bench area: 1620 mm
- Door wall: 1140 mm
- Return wall: 600 mm
- Opposite wall: 1265 mm
I’ve attached:
- A copy of our current laundry plan
- Photos of the existing space
- A rough idea of where I think a tall cupboard could go in the corner
Our goals:
- Maximise storage (top priority)
- White gloss 2‑pac cabinetry
- Stacked washer + dryer to free up storage space
- Overhead cupboards
- A tall broom/linen cupboard
- A benchtop with a drop‑in sink
- Travertine‑look tiles and brushed nickel tapware (to match our bathrooms)
What I’d love advice on:
- Best place to position the stacked washer/dryer
- Whether the tall cupboard should go in the corner or along the long wall
- How to get the most usable storage in a narrow room
- Whether the sink should be centred or pushed to one side
- Ideas for overheads, pull‑out hampers, or hidden storage
- Whether it’s worth tiling the full walls (like a bathroom) or just doing a splashback
- Any layout examples for laundries with similar dimensions
Any suggestions or layout ideas would be really appreciated. Thank you!
