How to fix leaking frameless shower door from the hinge?

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is doing well.🤘

I have a small concern about one of our bathrooms. 🛀

It is a walk-in shower with a frameless shower door.

Recently, we noticed that water is leaking from the inside to outside if we use the shower and the water, looks like, its coming from the hinge.

I'm not sure if there is something I can check to see if its sealed/aligned or not ?

This house is more or less 1 year old.

Thanks for sharing the photos. The two distinct trickles of water visible in the image are quite telling. They appear to align closely with where the lower door seal has been cut on either side of the hinge and butted up against it.

My suspicion is that water is running down the inside face of the glass door, reaching the bottom seal, and then escaping through the small gaps between the seal and the hinge assembly. The fact that there are two separate leak paths suggests there may be a gap on both sides of the hinge rather than water leaking through the hinge itself.

As a simple test, I'd suggest applying a small bead of clear wet-area silicone where the bottom door seal meets the hinge. I would start on one side where the seal meets the hinge and run the silicone up over the hinge to the other seals, creating a continuous barrier.

This is a relatively easy and inexpensive test.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, it may be worth checking for any branding on the shower screen hardware or glass (it looks like there may be some visible in your photos) and contacting the manufacturer. As the shower is only around a year old, they may be able to advise whether this is a known issue or if there is a revised seal arrangement available.

However, based on the leak pattern shown in the photo, I'd be looking closely at how the bottom seals have been terminated against the hinge before investigating anything more complex.
