How to paint a shed?

we need to paint the outside of our shed, just one side, anything we should know before starting?

Thanks for sharing your question about painting your shed. I suggest having a quick look at these discussions - How to repaint a Colorbond shed? by @tsteele and How to spray paint an old Colorbond shed? by @Smithrj. The general steps are to clean the surface of the shed using a

and doing the final wash with

. This will remove any grease or oil deposits that may have settled on the surface of the shed.

Once the shed is totally dry, I suggest using White Knight Rust Guard Grey Quick Dry True Bite Primer Paint and then your chosen topcoat. My best advice is to mask the areas of the shed that you don't want over painted with masking tape and painters drop sheets.

Some photos might help if you are unsure of the latter so members can see what you are working with. Preparation before starting painting is always crucial to ensure the best result.
