How to install Marquee PVC blinds for a deck?

Hello, I’m looking at installing some Marquee pvc blinds at the back and right side of our deck as that’s where the rain comes in. The frame is aluminium. Do they come with the right screws for that?

I’m wondering what sizes and possible extensions to get please.

The back gap is 489.5cm.

Side gap is 420cm.

The drop gap is 275. I know the drop on these blinds is 240 but I think they’ll still keep the weather out and as we’re not enclosing the whole deck I’m hoping a gap at the bottom will be fine!

Is installing these under the beam instead of on the side an option? (To give a few more cm on the drop?)

Hi @RBailey,

I don't believe the joiner adds any width to the length. This is because each blind has a 5cm zipped attachment on each end, which is included in the overall length. To join two blinds, you must first remove this 5cm end section from each blind, on the edges where they will be connecting. So, that's 100mm removed from the overall length of the two blinds combined. That is then replaced by the 100mm joiner.

So, joining blinds does not actually increase their length, unless you use a joiner that is longer than 100mm.

Yes, the zipper joiner adds 100mm to the overall width of the blinds. The special orders team will confirm with you before finalizing the order.

I recommend having the 35mm side facing out. It will make installing the timber to the aluminium frame much more convenient. My best advice is to drill pilot holes for ease of installation.

Thanks so much for this Eric. I have a couple more questions.

1. So just to be clear, does the zipper joiner adds around 100mm to the overall width? Eg 2x 2400 blinds would end up being 4900?

2. Would you recommend those timber pieces for down the sides for the side anchors as well?  And which way- 35mm or 70mm facing out? As this will affect my measurements.
