Can I adjust a water pressure reduction valve myself?

We have recently installed the water pressure reduction valve, but the shower water flow becomes very slow, what can we do to improve?  we check the water pressure, it's about 7.5L/min, do we have to match it with the same flow of shower head?  Can we actually adjust the reduction valve ourselves or we need to call a plumber, will it be costly to do the job?
