How to install a string light set around my Alfresco roof?

I want to install the below string light set around my Alfresco roof, which spot is better 1 or 2 as marked in above image. I don’t want to nail or screw this colorbon gutter or fascia . so which tool or clips are better to run this thicker string light set. Please advise

Hi @Samara1,

If you don't want to screw into the fascia, then that really only leaves the guttering as your attachment point.

For this type of installation, I'd suggest looking at something like the

, which are specifically designed for hanging string lights from gutters. Being heavier than fairy lights, I'd recommend using plenty of clips to adequately support the cable and prevent sagging between attachment points.

The one thing I'd caution about is that when lights are hung directly from the gutter, they can potentially be exposed to water if the gutter overflows during a torrential downpour. They appear to be designed for outdoor use, but outdoor ratings vary considerably. Some products are suitable for rainfall and splashing water, while others are not designed to cope with temporary submersion or being constantly exposed to overflowing water.

Before proceeding, I'd check the IP rating and the manufacturer's guidance to ensure the lights are suitable for that installation location. If in doubt, it's worth contacting the supplier or manufacturer for clarification.
