Hi i installed Dy-Mark 8L Slate Epoxy Coat Garage Floor Kit 2 years ago now and I have few parts of garage that have come up from where the wheels of the car are. Is there any touch up expoxy or pain you can get to touch it up ?. Cheers
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @fitzdylan1. It's terrific to have you join us and many thanks for your question about floor coatings.
You can touch up the area by first lightly sanding the edge of the existing epoxy where it meets the bare concrete, particularly if there's a noticeable lip or rough transition. Once that's smoothed out, you could apply the new coating up to the edge of the existing epoxy. It should look neater, but you'll likely still see a join line due to the age and appearance differences between the old and new coatings.
For the most seamless finish, the better approach would be to mechanically sand and key the entire floor surface, including both the existing epoxy and the bare concrete, and then apply a fresh coat across the whole area. This will help eliminate the visible transition and provide a consistent finish throughout the room.
In the past, the Dymark technical team has advised contacting them directly for assistance in this situation. They can advise on the recommended preparation method and let you know whether there are any smaller quantities that could be used for touching up these areas. Let me tag @RK07, @KThomson, and @ebdel, to see if they have any thoughts.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
