What shed flooring for concrete slab of under-cover car space?

Hi there, I have ordered an EasyShed Narrow Slider (yet to be delivered) L2.25m x W 0.78m x H1.80/1.98m for the back of my car space in a shared garage, with a concrete slab floor. I live close to the beach, and our garage is open air on two sides. Though my car space is furthest from the open-air, and the back of my car space has never had any water issues. Still, I wonder what flooring I can get that is cheap but will raise my belongings off the floor to protect in case of any flooding. I am also looking for sturdy plastic shelving for the shed if you have any recommendations. Thanks, Georgie

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

A simple and budget-friendly option would be to line the floor with pavers that are at least 30mm or so thick. They could be sat in place directly over the concrete with small gaps between each. This will raise items slightly off the concrete, and if any water does happen to enter the shed, it can flow between the pavers rather than pooling directly underneath your stored items. Even a small amount of extra clearance can make a big difference in protecting boxes, containers and other belongings from moisture or minor flooding.

A sturdy plastic shelving unit such as this

would be a great option, as they're lightweight, durable and won't rust. You should be able to fit two of these shelving units in your shed with relative ease.

With the combination of the plastic shelves and the pavers, your items will be stored safely off the ground and your shed will be well equipped if there is any minor flooding.
