Hi gang, hopefully someone can help me figure out how to remove an LED(?) tube light in my bathroom, located underneath the mirrored cabinets. The light does not turn on so I want to replace it if possible.
Most search results indicate a tube light can be rotated a quarter turn in either direction and removed easily, but as you can see from the photos the light is recessed into a niche that isn't much larger than the light itself, so there's no room to get your fingers in there to turn it.
There's a screw at each end of the tube and I managed to get one out, but couldn't feel the tube loosen at all, plus the wiring leading into the cabinet above blocks access to the other screw, so it seems like that isn't the way to get it out either.
One other thing is that in the cabinet above, the bottom shelf is raised on one side but not on the other. Could that be the way to remove the tube light? If it is, I can't see any way to lift the bottom of the shelf to access whatever is above the tube light.
Thanks in advance for any advice, it seems silly to have to call an electrician for what is essentially changing a light globe 😅
