How to replace weatherboard corner metal brackets?

Hi there,

Hope it is going well

Where could I get the exteror metal corner bracket that has fallen off from the exterior corner ( see the photos of the bracket and red circled exterior corner).

I need 10 pieces of them at first.

Is it good idea to use liquid nail glue to put it back instead of the nail in currently used?

I believe your soaker is the

which is for external corners.

To paint the James Hardie 230mm Aluminium HardiePlank External Corner Soaker, first clean the surface thoroughly with detergent and water. Once it's totally dry apply a high-quality metal primer to ensure good adhesion to the aluminium, then finish with at least two coats of premium exterior acrylic paint, carefully coating edges and seams before applying the main coats. For the best result, use a paint finish that matches the rest of your weatherboard cladding, such as a low-sheen or matte exterior paint.

Thanks for replying.

The height is 230mm and thickness is approx 5mm.

Those two look like similar to mine. But not 100 sure if they are identical.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

These are called corner soakers, and they are designed for and relative to the specific weatherboards that are being used. If you can let me know the height and thickness of your weatherboards, I could certainly point you towards the correct soaker.

In terms of installation, their installation guide mentions that they should be installed using a flat head nail, however this would be impossible to do without removing the weatherboards. In a situation like this, while not ideal, using an adhesive to hold them in place would be your best option.

In this situation, I would recommend using

as it is both an adhesive and a sealant so it can be used to stick them in place and seal them up. Being white, it will also better match the surrounding areas, and can be painted once cured.
