How to replace deck?

Hi Bunnings,

I have an existing treated pine frame, merbau decking that is around 17 yrs old, which I would like to replace with a maintenance free deck, as close to the merbau colour as I can.

What options would you suggest? And what subframe would you suggest for longevity?

Thanks for sharing your question about your deck. I suggest having a quick look at this featured project - Timber-free deck with steel frame by @Adam_W. It's a great example of using steel and composite decking to build a low maintenance deck. Another option to the Hardie deck is the

. It has the look and feel of timber but with the strength of composite materials. It does not need to be oiled or sanded, and the surface can easily be cleaned with detergent and water.
