How to re-seal bedroom window?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to redo the silicon seal on my bedroom window as the winter rain conditions I have noticed that water has been dripping through and entering a section that doesn't look to have been done correctly by previous owner.

Any advice and recommendations for how to remove existing silicon and best ways to prevent water from entering?

The first step is to try and locate the specific location of the leak. Water can often travel along window frames or behind existing sealant before appearing inside, so identifying exactly where it's entering will help determine whether the issue is the silicone seal or another part of the window assembly.
