How to anchor a bookcase to a metal container house wall?

I have a large bookcase and a small baby who is about to start crawling. I need to anchor a large bookcase to a wall on a Container House, (think extra large shipping container). The walls on the house are a sheet of metal, a layer of foam and another sheet of metal. What is the best way to anchor the bookcase to the wall?

I'd be very cautious about anchoring a bookcase to this type of wall construction.

One of the fundamental principles of furniture anchoring is that the furniture must be securely connected to an immovable structural element. In a typical home, this would be either the timber studs within a framed wall or the masonry of a brick or concrete wall.

From your description, your container house walls appear to be constructed from metal-faced insulated panels with a foam core. While it may be possible to install fixings into the metal skin or sandwich panel, I wouldn't consider this a suitable structural fixing point for furniture anchoring. Although the fixing may initially help resist tipping, it could create a false sense of security. As your child grows and becomes heavier and more active, there is a risk that sufficient force could pull the fixings from the wall panel, potentially resulting in the bookcase toppling and causing serious injury.

Because the wall construction doesn't appear to provide a suitable structural fixing point for furniture restraint, I would recommend considering alternative storage solutions that are inherently stable and less prone to tipping, rather than relying on an anchor fixed to the wall panel.
