The project:
I removed all of the old plants and soil from the existing garden bed, digging out the plants before replacing the heavy clay soil with high-quality soil purchased in bulk. After preparing the bed, I planted a variety of roses, and the transformation has been amazing. The garden now looks beautiful and much healthier than before.

- 1m3 wholesale organic soil
- 1m3 organic compost
- Mulch
- Perlite
- Sand
- Bare root roses
- Weed Mat (optional)
- Tools:
- Shovel
- Pickaxe
- Heavy-duty bags
- Wheel barrow
- Gardening gloves
- Secateurs
- Garden fork
- Garden hose or watering can
- Step 1:
Gather all tools and materials and put on gardening gloves.
- Step 2:
Remove and dig out all old plants, weeds, and the old clay soil from the garden bed.
- Step 3:
Loosen the base of the garden bed and fill it with high-quality soil.
- Step 4:
Level the soil with a rake and prepare holes for the roses.
- Step 5:
Plant the roses and cover their roots with soil.
- Step 6:
Water the roses thoroughly, apply mulch around the plants, and clean up the work area.
