The project:
I found this draw unit on the side of the road. It had a broken drawer (I made into a light box for a kinder)I stripped the unit back, mended broken pieces, added a lower shelf for storage baskets. Painted the unit a pretty sea green and took the top back to original raw wood and finished with bees wax and added round marble brass drawer pulls.
- Materials:
I used MDF for the lower shelf, they cut to size for me, Feast Watson hard wax, Dulux paint pot, cane baskets, sand paper and screws.
- Tools:
All my tools are OZITO, and they are really great to work with. I use three drills… 1X as screw driver, 1X for drilling, 1X for countersink. I use a bench drop saw.
- Step 1:
*Take unit apart where needed. *replace backing sheet. *mend broken drawer, made two light boxes from two large drawers, for kinder. *Sand the unit ready for paint. *strip top back to raw and finished with hard wax *attached the lower shelf *added two lovely baskets for extra storage finished with marble drawer pulls.
