How to order Ryobi hand vacuum spare parts?

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can help me identify a replacement part for my Ryobi R18HVP 18V ONE+ Hand Vacuum.

I bought it from Bunnings this week as a “ex-display” item for $20-I have to say it’s really cheap and I thought I only need a battery:( ! However, I found it lost the plastic pre-filter cage (filter support) that sits inside the dust canister. As a result, I also can’t install the HEPA filter.

I’ve already contacted Ryobi Australia, but they advised that they don’t supply this part separately. They only offer the replacement HEPA filter (RHVHF), which unfortunately isn’t usable without the cage.

I’m wondering if anyone could help with any of the following:

Does anyone know the official part number for the pre-filter cage?Is it available as part of a complete dust canister assembly?Does this part interchange with any other Ryobi handheld vacuum models (RHV18, R18HVC, etc.)?Has anyone successfully sourced one from a repair centre or spare parts supplier?

I’d really appreciate any advice before I have to return it to Bunnings.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. It certainly sounds like you got a bargain initially, but unfortunately, without the pre-filter cage, the vacuum can't be used as intended.

Since Ryobi has confirmed that the pre-filter cage isn't available as a spare part, I'd recommend considering returning the unit to your local Bunnings store. As the missing component prevents the vacuum from functioning correctly, they should be able to assist you with a refund or exchange.

Again, I'm sorry you've found yourself in this situation, but I think returning the ex-display model will be the simplest and most practical solution, as I do not believe the similar models share the same cage design.
