The project:
This im my memorial Boab Screem wall. I was built to commerate my parents who have both passed. They had a special affininty for the Boab trees. When the Boab treee were being reloacted to Kings Park in WA, my parents watched every step of the way via the news.
Mum was able to visit the trees here in Perth on a couple of occasions.
This is my lasting memory of them and what they did for me and my siblings.
- Materials:
The screen walls are Corten steel panels, 2.4 x 1.2 metres made by MetalDecor in Victoria.
6 panel in total (i now wish I did the entire fence of 10 metres).
Uprights are aluminium 3.0m x 75mm x 75mm extra thick wall
- Tools:
No special tools needs.

A strong Son who made all of the difference in lifting and placement of the panel prior to riveting (thanks Zane, you are the best son a father could hope for)
A wonderful wife who allowed me to do this project (Georgina, love you)
- Step 1:
- Set out the positions of the holes
- Dug to required depth (700mm)
- Place poles and cemented ensturing height was 2.4 above ground
- Attached the aluminium panels panels to the poles using stainless pop rivets
Getting the spacing correct was the most challenging part as I wanted the panels to butt up to each other and give a smooth continuous surface.
