How to transport plasterboard sheets?

Hi,

I need to resheet a small area of a wall (approx 1 mt sq) but the smallest plasterboard sheet I can buy is too big to fit in my car. Any suggestions how I can get this home without having to spend an amount equivalent to the purchase price on delivery options?

I have a Mazda CX30 so there is a lot of carrying space - just not enough to fit a 2400 x 1200 gyprock sheet!

I wouldn’t have thought of cutting the plasterboard there but that would definitely work! Thanks for the suggestion

I imagine the 2.4m length is much of the issue in terms of using your CX30, so is there any possibility of cutting down the plasterboard in store?

I wouldn't try to cut it to perfect dimensions, but if you could cut it into two 1.2 x 1.2m sheets, would you be able to fit them in your car?

All you need to cut plasterboard is a utility knife and a pair of gloves, so there's no real reason you couldn't do this in store if it will work.

Alternatively, we do have courtesy trailers available for transporting large materials. Just have a chat with the team at the Service Desk to see what is available and they should be able to assist.

You can also hire a ute for a relatively low price if your car does not have a tow ball.
