How to finish Villaboard join?

I'm doing half height tiles in my bathroom renovation. I've put gyprock on the ceiling but used villaboard sheet for the walls. There is a horizontal join above the tile line that I will need to tape and finish like a plaster wall before painting.

What products do you recommend for tape and filler compound. Do I use the same paper joining tape and joint compound for plasterboard or is there a specific product for fibre cement?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

An internal corner like you are dealing with would be approached in the same way as plasterboard in that you use a base compound, with paper jointing tape, then finish over the top with a finishing compound, but you need to use the https://www.bunnings.com.au/james-hardie-compound-base-coat-4kg-tub_p0710192 and https://www.bunnings.com.au/james-hardie-3kg-compound-top-coat-tub_p0710193 which have been specifically developed for use on Villaboard.

My apologies, none of the surrounding stores have the James Hardie compound base and topcoat as click and collect. The closest store that has the product in stock is Bunnings Bayswater. One other way to get the product in is to specially order it in through the special orders desk. I recommend visiting the special orders team at Bunnings Coburg and getting them to arrange the order for you.
