Hi I recently re-oiled my jarrah deck that i fully sanded back. 2 days later i left a wet tin on the deck overnight and I ended up with a ring. any advise on how to remove this
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Nic77. It's wonderful to have you join us and many thanks for your question on deck stains.
Unfortunately, there isn't an easy fix for this. It looks like the can may have drawn some of the oil to the surface or caused it to concentrate in that area, leaving the visible ring.
Your best options would be to either use a suitable deck cleaner or timber stripper to see if it will lift the mark, or lightly sand back the affected area and reapply the decking oil. If the stain has penetrated the finish, abrasion is often the most effective way to remove it before recoating.
I'd suggest starting with the least aggressive method, such as a deck cleaner, and only moving to sanding if the mark remains. Hopefully, it's only affected the finish rather than the timber itself.
Alternatively, you might consider flipping the decking boards and reapplying your coating.
