Upcycled dining room timber table

The project:

Upcycling old timber table into a more modern look to suit our new home.

- Materials:

White paint for table legs

Small paint roller

Sand paper for sander, 80,120,240 grit

Hard wax for top of table

- Tools:

We used a Ozito battery operated sander

- Step 1:

Use your old timber table or source a cheap one

- Step 2:

Sand the whole table using a sander with 80 grit sand paper until just about all the old timber stain is off the table, now use 120 grit to get the remaining stain off, then 240 grit to create a smooth surface.

- Step 3:

Wipe over the table to get rid of any of the sanding particles

- Step 4:

Paint the table legs. We used white house paint and rolled it onto the legs. We did 2 coats of paint.

- Step 5:

Use hard wax on the top of the table as per the directions on container.

- Step 6:

All finished, now to sit back and enjoy your finished product.

What a beautiful tabletop finish. The timber grain really stands out and the white legs provide a nice contrast to the natural colour of the timber. It's good to know that you've upcycled this table givivng it a second life instead of being left at the curbside pick up.
