Full Merbau deck renovation with lighting

The project:

We moved in around March

The deck was my first mission

I 100% gutted the old deck of assuming 30 + years old

And replaced it with a Bunnings Merbau deck

- Materials:

90x45,

89x89 posts classed with Merbau decking

Merbau decking

- Tools:

makita drill and driver purchased from Bunnings

Makita hammer drill purchased from Bunnings

Drop saw Nail gun

Nail gun

Concrete mixer

- Step 1:

step 1 complete dismantling of original deck

Step 2 mark out footings and poor footings

Step 3 assemble frame

Step 4 attach Merbau boards

Step 5 finish off last little bits

Step6 stain ( if the weather last me

Thank you so much for sharing the materials and steps you've used to renovate your deck. It looks fantastic! The deck build looks very well thought out and the addition of the LED lights gives such a nice warm look in the evening. Wrapping the post in Merbau panels is so clever, not only does it make it blend in with the surrounding deck, but it also adds an extra protective cover over the post itself.
