Media room acoustic panels and bench

The project:

We turned a plain wall into a modern feature wall using timber look acoustic panels and built a matching cabinet underneath. The panels help with sound while giving the room a warmer, more finished look. The cabinet adds storage and ties in with the timber wall so everything looks clean and built-in. All the materials, including the acoustic panels, stain, timber and wood peices, were bought in store.

- Tools:

Skill saw, Stanley knife, drill, drill driver (for the screws), silicon gun, tape measure

- Step 1:

Measured thr height and width of the wall, length of the bench i needed,

Jumped online to see what would work thr best, 2700 acoustic panels were perfect,

- Step 2:

Started with 1 panel on thr wall and temp screwed it in place to make sure it lined up and looked good.

Then glued and screwed thr entire wall in place leaving cut outs for thr wall sockets and antenna spot,

- Step 3:

For thr bench i just worked out thr height i needed and cut lengths to suit thr height and just started screwing them in place, added bracing and supports throughout it,

- Step 4:

Cut thr oak panels down slightly in length and stuck them on top, minor sand and then stained it, a few days later put a sealer ontop
